Do something nice.

About

I’m Eo Stojadinović, and I founded the Krokokodil organization. My goal was to raise awareness, especially among young people like me, about doing something good for our community. I want to make people happy and fulfilled. There’s nothing better than helping someone in need and spreading joy! My idea didn’t just get young people on board; older citizens and businesses joined in too! Wherever I go, I talk about donations, and that’s how I’ve touched the hearts of donors all over Serbia. And guess what? My message spread far and wide, crossing oceans and reaching my friends in the U.S. Now, we’re working hard to become a global “good deed network” on all continents. It’s an exciting journey ahead!

How did Krokokodil get established?

I had this awesome idea for the Krokokodil network after I got back from the U.S. I was a full scholarship holder of the ASSIST Scholarship organization, and I spent a whole year in the U.S as a third grader at a private school called St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, Virginia. I didn’t just get a scholarship; I also got my plane ticket paid, insurance, and even $400 in pocket money! It was like a dream come true! But here’s the thing, I couldn’t help but wonder how some random person who didn’t even know me decided to donate such a huge amount of money to me! I had this really nice conversation with my donor, and he told me that he believes in me, he’s thrilled about my successes, and he gave me this award to teach me that I should also give back to others and keep the chain of donations going. The school I went to, St. Christopher’s, is also known for its generous donations and organizing events to collect food and clothes for those in need. We all participated in these humanitarian events on weekends, which was a great way to learn about the importance of giving back. The last week of school, St. Christopher’s School gave me a wonderful opportunity to participate in FeedMore. We went every day to a church where we would pack delivered food and fold clothes! This gave me an idea that money isn’t the only thing that can help a person, but everyday things like food and clothes are more than enough to some people who are in desperate need for assistance! As a teenager in this generation, which can be tough to get involved in, I decided that when I got back home to Serbia, I would break the stereotype of my friends and share my story with them! I wanted to inspire them to donate and make a positive impact on others!

Why the name “Krokokodil”?

When I was a little kid, I didn’t talk for a while. But when I finally started speaking, I accidentally added an extra syllable to every word! So, the krokodil (crocodile) became kroko-ko-dil (croco-co-dile), and the papagaj (parrot) was papa-pa-gaj. My parents and even my speech therapist found it cute, and I always managed to make them smile with that extra syllable! Now, we use that extra syllable to a meaning of giving away something extra, because someone needs it, and it makes us feel better without it. So, our crocodile had six pairs of legs, and by giving away an extra pair of legs in a figurative sense, we make someone happy and help us avoid tripping!

Krokokodil network

Considering the fact that I’m a teenager, and I can’t manage an organization involving money legally by law, the Krokokodil network functions according to the principle of social networks, but as a humanitarian network. The goal is for the users of this network to do something positive in their environment! It doesn't have to be something big, but it must be from the heart! You can do a good deed or something nice by yourself without Krokokodil and send us photos of that act on Krokokodil's Instagram profile, on FaceBook profile or to our e-mail address. We will publish them so that the world can see your good deed and thus motivate others to do the same! You can also contact us by e-mail and together we will realize your positive idea. Don't think that any idea you have is insufficient or small, every idea for a donation or a good deed is big for someone! Anyone from small children, high school students, college/university students, adult individuals, companies can participate in the work of the Krokokodil organization! Everyone is absolutely welcome in our network!

Transparency

We’re transparent about our operations because we don’t accept any payments or have any financial transactions. Our mission is to connect those in need with those who want to help. We don’t invest our energy in fundraising; instead, we focus on logistics and connecting between these two groups of people. That’s why we don’t accept funds. We’re just an information network that facilitates these connections. Our goal is to encourage as many people as possible to participate in humanitarian donations and volunteer efforts, even if it’s just a small gesture. Because “our little can make a big difference for someone or for the community.”!
